I'm Allison, and I'm currently the secretary for Engineers Without Borders. As secretary, I'm in charge of the whole blogness. So forewarning: be prepared for some random commentary, extra letters & -ness added to random words [= But no worries, this won't be like total internet lingo. Alright.. now to more serious stuff..
EWB. Engineers Without Borders. It's a lot more than justtttt engineering--so don't freak out too much yet. There's culture, health, design, and some finance and business as well. It's a pretty all encompassing little group, even though the majority of members are engineers--pretty much all except for... less than 4 of us [=
So what do we do? Wellll.. we are currently working on a project in Otho Abwao in Kenya, where we designed a water distribution system. There is also a cultural and health program that is also a large part of that project. The implementation trip is set for the spring of 2009. It's definitely a super exciting thing for EWB, as this is our first project and getting it finallyyyyyy accomplished is going to be sooo awesome [=
There's also a lot of new things going on in EWB. A new project is just starting off in Nyambogo, Uganda... I think. I'm not exactly sure if that it spelled correctly or not.. it could even be the wrong place, but I'm pretttttyyy sure that's it [= Tom just took over for that project so that's exciting as well.
Well.. what else is going on... There's another project in Burrere, Tanzania. This project is brand new as well, and Phillip is going to take the lead in that project.
3 project simultaneously. This is prettttyyy awesome if I do say so myself [=
So I think that's just about it for the rather long intro stuff. More exciting stuff [[I'm saying "stuff" a lot in this one.. sorry yall]] coming soooon [=
